Driftwood/Barnwood China Hutch

$700.00

Meet this sweet old girl... πŸ’›

I took an old 1970's china hutch and gave her a complete transformation. Layer by layer, she became something entirely new.

She was painted with DIY Paint by Debi's Design Diary, one of my very favorite all-natural, no-VOC paints. After a thorough cleaning, the first layer was all about creating texture using Chocolate DIY Paint thickened with Paint Frosting. The second layer was inspired by the beautiful shades of weathered driftwood, building depth and softness with layered grays. Finally, she was sealed and finished with Clear Wax and White Wax, giving her that soft, timeworn character that only gets better the closer you look. ✨

The original metal mullions in the glass doors were treated to a little magic of their own. They were painted with genuine copper paint by Modern Masters, which will continue to develop a beautiful natural verdigris patina over time. To encourage that aged look, I added a wash of Modern Masters Blue Aging Patina, giving them the appearance of old architectural copper. 🩡

She is now ready for her next chapter and a new home.

Please note that this piece is constructed from a combination of solid wood and laminated particle board, which was very common in furniture from the 1970s onward. She is sturdy, full of character, and beautifully finished to resemble aged driftwood.

This hutch would feel right at home in a:
🌿 Coastal cottage
🀍 French country home
πŸͺ΅ Rustic farmhouse
βš“ Lake house or marsh-inspired retreat

Shipping is free. Local pickup is always welcome.

I love giving forgotten furniture a second chance, and I hope this piece brings warmth, beauty, and a little bit of history into its new home. πŸ’›
