Carolina Sunset Secretary Desk

My husband and I were browsing furniture, and we came across a small secretary desk. It was lost in a sea of other furniture. We could tell the top seemed handmade. She was a lovely desk, just neglected and unloved, so we brought her to my studio. Sunsets were on my mind, and I saw a beautiful photo of a sunset over a lowcountry marsh. I had never painted a sunset before, and I thought this would be perfect for her. The rest of the desk was painted in the colors of the water as it is becoming dark. All of the paint used is DIY Co. clay paint. She is finished in clear wax. The handles were painted with Pennies From Heaven copper patina from DIY Co. paint.
